I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. My parents were native Puerto Ricans and met in New York in the early 60's. They got married and started a family. I am one of four; two older brothers, an older sister and myself (aka the baby of the house, ha, ha, ha). I miss my parents dearly, may they rest in peace.
I gained interest in music as a teenager while going to church. In church I played the drums and sang. I would also go across the street to my aunt's house to play her record player and I would grab her acoustic guitar and little by little I learned to play the guitar by ear. Plus music is in my families DNA.
In the early 90's I made my first demo. My demo consisted of three original soft rock songs. I also had the privilege of being in female rapper EVE's first video/single, "What Ya Really Want", with special guests Fat Joe and George LaMond. Eventually, I went back to my roots, which is Salsa. I attended network parties and met individuals in the music industry.
In the beginning it was not easy, but persistence prevailed! Once opportunities came my way I took full advantage of them by being prepared and by maintaining a work ethic second to none.
I am always thankful and grateful to those who believed in me. Because of them I've been blessed with the opportunity to share stages with Salsa artists who I was a fan of as a kid.
So, imagine how memorable and special it feels to be on the same stage with the likes of:
